Privacy and analytics choices

This page lists what the DomCast Metals website collects, where it goes, and how to change your analytics choice. Questions go to sales@domcastmetals.com or 519 972 3901.

Optional analytics

• Analytics are off until you choose Allow analytics. Before that, the site loads no Google Analytics code and sends nothing to Google Analytics.
• If you allow it, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-2B77CXP2TT) and records one page view per public page. Each page view carries the page address with everything after a ? or # removed, a fixed page name set by DomCast, and only the domain of the site that linked you here.
• Google then sets Analytics cookies on domcastmetals.com, _ga and _ga_2B77CXP2TT, set to expire 90 days after your last visit. They let Google Analytics tell a repeat visit from a new one. Like any request to Google’s servers, these requests also carry your IP address and browser details.
• These are switched off: Google Signals, ad personalization, advertising features, and Google Analytics’ automatic tracking of clicks, outbound links, file downloads, scrolling, site search and form interactions. Nothing you type into a form is sent to Google Analytics.
• The analytics code is never loaded on the customer sign-in, registration, profile or admin pages, and it does nothing on preview or local copies of the site.
• If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the site treats it as a no, offers no Allow button, and deletes any existing _ga cookies.
• Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under dc-analytics-choice-v1. Clearing site data resets it.
• You can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices in the page footer or the button below. Declining after allowing stops measurement on the page you’re on and deletes the _ga cookies. Page views already sent stay in Google Analytics.
• Google describes how it handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy and Safeguarding your data.

Contact and quote form

• The form on the contact page sends your name, email, company, phone, selected product and message to a Supabase Edge Function, a small server program run by Supabase, the service that hosts DomCast’s website database.
• That function emails the enquiry to DomCast sales through Resend, an email delivery service, with your email address as the reply-to so sales can answer you. The function doesn’t write the enquiry to the website database.

Customer accounts for drawing access

• Registering sends your email, password, contact name, company name and phone number to Supabase. The password is handled by Supabase Auth; the other details are stored as your customer record so DomCast staff can review and approve drawing access.

Services the site loads

• Netlify hosts the site and handles every page request, which includes your IP address and browser details.
• Google Fonts: some pages load the Inter typeface from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com when the page opens. These requests go to Google whatever your analytics choice.
• Supabase serves product photos, drawings and live stock status, and jsDelivr serves the Supabase JavaScript library on some pages.
• The newsletter link goes to Mailchimp, and the social links go to LinkedIn and Instagram. Those sites have their own policies.
